Ecommerce software company BigCommerce has announced the launch of Commerce, its new parent brand. Under Commerce, the ecommerce software will be unified with other software solutions Feedonomics and Makeswift. According to the company, it will help online sellers adapt to AI.
BigCommerce is a ecommerce software company from the United States. It is also active in Europe. In 2022, for example, it launched in the Nordics and the DACH region.
Rebranding
Now, it has announced a rebranding. While BigCommerce will continue to operating as a software platform under its own brand, it now has a new parent company. The new brand is called Commerce.
In addition to BigCommerce, Commerce will consist of two other brands. One is Feedonomics, a well-known product feed management provider. The other is Makeswift, a visual editor that lets marketers and developers collaborate on personalized digital experiences.
‘We are doubling down on innovation’
As consumers are increasingly using AI to research products and sometimes even place orders, Commerce wants to play into that development. In its own words, it wants to enable sellers with the data infrastructure and intelligent storefronts to thrive in this stage of digital commerce.
‘Agentic commerce requires a new playbook’
“Launching the Commerce brand is about more than a new name and logo,” said Commerce CEO Travis Hess. “It is a clear declaration to our customers, partners, investors and team that we are doubling down on innovation to give brands, retailers, manufacturers, distributors and wholesalers the flexibility, connectivity and care to help them move faster, scale smarter and grow on their terms. Agentic commerce requires a new playbook, and Commerce is here to deliver it with an open ecosystem built for speed, intelligence and flexibility.”
