Last November, Vinted Go launched a pilot called Rescued Value. Packages that could not be delivered or returned are relisted on the secondhand marketplace through this dedicated account. In an interview with Ecommerce News, the platform reported that more than 100,000 products have already found new owners through this program.
Vinted Go is a subsidiary of the Vinted Group. It was founded in 2022 and focuses on logistics. Every day, millions of secondhand items are exchanged through Vinted Go’s pan-European delivery network. The majority of these items arrive safely at their destination, but sometimes things go wrong.
A common problem
“In a very small number of cases, parcels cannot be delivered or returned despite multiple delivery attempts. Reasons for this are uncollected parcels, damaged labels, failed return attempts, or operational issues. When this happens, both buyer and seller are protected. Buyers can request a refund if their parcel cannot be delivered, and sellers are compensated if their item cannot be returned to them”, Vytautas Atkočaitis, CEO of Vinted Go, told Ecommerce News in an interview.

Undeliverable packages are a common problem for shipping services. Most logistics companies either dispose of undeliverable packages or sell them in bulk to buyers. “At Vinted Go, we want to explore other ways to give these items a second life.” As a result, some of the products are donated to charities.
Pilot active in 10 countries
In November 2025, Vinted Go also launched a pilot: the Rescued Value program. Under this program, these undeliverable products are relisted on Vinted under a dedicated account called Rescued Value. Customers in France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Germany, Austria, and Luxembourg have access to these items. According to Vinted Go, more than 100,000 packages have now found a second owner.

“Giving these items a second life is more complicated and expensive from an operational standpoint than traditional disposal methods. The revenue from the account helps us cover the operational costs of collecting, processing, and reselling the items”, said Atkočaitis.
Developing new tools
Thanks in part to the software for the Rescued Value program, Vinted Go can now also develop new tools that enable charities to sell donated items on a large scale through Vinted. According to Atkočaitis, there is demand for this from partner organizations.
‘Successful delivery remains our priority’
“Our priority will always be to successfully deliver packages to recipients or return them to sellers, and this initiative affects only a very small portion of our total package volume. However, we are testing whether we can offer an alternative solution to a common problem faced by carriers worldwide, thereby extending the lifespan of the items.”
