Amazon is requiring sellers to offer all their Pan-European FBA products on its Dutch marketplace. In six months’ time, a similar requirement will be introduced for Belgium. As a result, the international product selection on Amazon.nl and Amazon.com.be is set to increase.
With Pan-European FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon), third-party sellers can outsource order fulfilment to Amazon. One of the existing conditions is that sellers offer their products on Amazon’s marketplaces in Germany, its largest European market, France, Italy and Spain. Since mid-2025, newly added products have also been required to be offered on Amazon.nl.
New listing requirements
Amazon is expanding that requirement this week. From 3 September, sellers must offer all their products (“new and existing”) on the Dutch marketplace if they want to continue using Pan-European FBA.
Belgian requirement applies at enrollment
Nearly six months later, a requirement for Amazon’s Belgian marketplace will follow: “Starting 26 February 2027, you must also have an active offer in Belgium for Pan-EU FBA products, at enrollment.” Unlike for the Netherlands, Amazon so far only mentions a Belgian requirement when products are enrolled in Pan-European FBA.
Fulfilment fees
According to Amazon, international sellers can benefit from the policy change: “With Pan-EU FBA in the Netherlands and Belgium, reach thousands of new customers, help increase your FBA sales, and save on fulfilment fees”, the company writes on Seller Central.
Sellers do not need to create product pages
There are exceptions to the listing requirement, including for products that do not yet have a product detail page on Amazon.nl or Amazon.com.be. Sellers therefore do not have to create such a product page themselves, to comply with the new Pan-EU FBA requirement.
Amazon in the Netherlands and Belgium
Amazon launched a dedicated marketplace for the Netherlands in March 2020, followed by one for the Belgian market in October 2022. In both countries, the American company is the second-largest online retailer, behind Bol. Amazon is investing billions in its battle with the local market leader.
Local market leader Bol recruits international sellers
Bol operates exclusively in the Dutch and Belgian markets, but is expanding its product selection by recruiting international selling partners. This includes sellers from outside the European Union.
