Yesterday the eCom Summit & Awards event, which was organized by Digital Commerce Finland, took place. Prizes were awarded in 18 categories. Women’s fashion brand Nanso won the grand prize and was named Online Store of the Year.
It was the second edition of the eCom Awards. The event was organized by Digital Commerce Finland, which is a community of online stores, commerce companies, service providers and others. Founding members include Posti, Sanoma and the Finnish Commerce Federation.
Nominated by consumers
Consumers in Finland could nominate companies in the months before the event. More than 200 ecommerce businesses were nominated. A jury of experts then selected the winners for every category. The main category, the Online Store of the Year, as decided by a direct public vote.
‘So many domestic online stores have done a great job and deserve recognition’
“We received a huge number of good candidates from all over Finland. The jury’s job was not easy, as so many domestic online stores have done a great job and deserve recognition. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the entire Finnish ecommerce field and all the players in the industry”, says Digital Commerce Director Mirva Sandström from Digital Commerce Finland.
Nanso got 25% of direct public vote
During the evening’s award gala, Nanso received 25 percent of the audience’s vote. Because of that, it was named Online Store of the Year. Other finalistst were Verkkokauppa.com and Stockmann’s Crazy Days.
